Advancement Centre

At ISD, we are highly committed to embrace, empower and inspire a diverse range of learners. We believe that learning in a diverse environment can benefit all learners in our community as it reflects the complex society we are preparing our learners for.

The Advancement Centre focuses on providing the best education for all students, with so many neurodiverse brains, every individual student deserves the attention and time to find out in what ways we can connect and create successful learning experiences.

Our dynamic Advancement Centre team embodies committed and qualified Special Needs professionals and English Language Learning specialists to cater for the needs of all learners in our community. They work together with all teachers, parents and administrators to identify needs, and to design and deliver an effective support programme for every student. We believe that our caring and understanding approach along with our expertise brings out the best in each child we work with.

Our EAL programme supports all ranges of language needs and is fully integrated into our IB curriculum. It is designed to support each student’s academic learning needs at their respective phase of English proficiency. Learning English can be fun!

The Advancement Centre provides support for a managed number of students with mild, moderate, and intensive learning needs. We want to do the best job in the right way for those we serve. Unfortunately, we are not able to meet the needs of students with moderate or severe emotional/behavioral disabilities.

The admission of any student with identified needs is determined on an individual basis using a variety of information sources, such as admissions testing, school records, evaluations and Individual Learning Plans. If you are not sure if your child requires specialised help, do not hesitate to ask. We are committed to ensuring each child receives the best opportunity to achieve success. Our Admissions team is ready to answer any questions you might have.
