Co-curriculars

why join?

At ISD, we believe the co-curricular program strengthens our school community and a holistic approach to education within ISD. Active participation in the co-curricular program will build confidence and promote positive social interaction and every student should have an opportunity to become involved in the co-curricular program.
 

Primary School

Our Primary School students benefit from a variety of programs that are sponsored by teachers and members of our community. These programs enhance children's creativity with a wide variety of arts and crafts, puzzles, games, and outdoor activities. These all build critical thinking skills, listening, memory, visualization, concentration through singing, hands-on experiments, physical movement, word puzzles, art projects, and more.

Secondary School

From learning and developing skills such as leadership and collaboration, to promoting social growth and maturation, getting involved in enriching activities outside of the classroom offers these opportunities and so much more. These experiences help students discover their passions and talents while building confidence. They also prepare learners to face future challenges with creativity, resilience, and a strong sense of community.

ISD Swim Academy

Our Swim Academy is structured to teach fundamental stroke skills to develop strong, safe and confident independent swimmers. 

Most of our Swim Academy offerings are completely free, including the Splash Club, Water Polo Club, Swim Endurance Club, High School/Middle School Swim Team, Elementary Swim Team, and Community Pool Hours. The only paid activities are the ISD Swimming Certificate Course and pool rental.

Paid Activities:
The ISD Swimming Certificate Course is open to all ISD community members, including parents and staff.

  • Class Size: 2-3 students per group
  • Coaches: Taught by experienced ISD swimming coaches
  • Cost: 30,000 Taka for 10 classes (advance payment required; no refunds for withdrawals)
  • Award: ISD swimming certificate upon completion

ISD Swim Gala

International School Dhaka (ISD) hosts its annual Swimming Gala to celebrate students’ progress and enthusiasm for swimming. The event brings together students, parents, teachers, and staff, fostering a strong sense of community and encouraging participation across all age groups—including lower primary students.
As a key component of ISD’s Primary PE curriculum, swimming helps students develop essential life skills such as water safety, confidence, and teamwork. The gala also features fun events like raft races and relay swims for parents and teachers, making it a joyful and inclusive experience for the entire school community.
ISD’s swimming program continues to grow with the introduction of its Swim Academy, offering a wide range of programs including swim teams, swim clubs, endurance training, and a certification course based on AUSTSWIM standards, supporting both skill development and overall student well-being.

Cost: 20,000 Taka for 2 hours;
Additional hours at 8,000 Taka per hour
Guest Limit: 25 max
