SCHOOL LIFE

School Life

School life is so much more than academic learning.  That’s why at ISD we’re proud to offer a diverse range of opportunities and experiences for our young people to truly thrive. It provides the perfect complement to our International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum.

Co-curricular

Our inclusive co-curricular program empowers students to explore interests, develop talents, and build meaningful relationships. From athletics to the arts, leadership to service, students are encouraged to take on challenges, pursue passions, and discover new skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Co-curricular involvement is central to the holistic education we value at ISD. Active participation helps students grow in confidence, embrace teamwork, and engage positively with our community. Every student is encouraged to find their place and thrive.

Sports and PE

Athletics plays a key role in student life at ISD. As the proud home of the Hawks, our sports program inspires teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit.
We offer a variety of athletic opportunities across different age levels. At the Under-14 level, we promote participation alongside competition, ensuring all students have the chance to get involved. Top performers are selected to represent ISD in inter-school tournaments held at the end of each season.
Whether training, competing, or cheering from the sidelines—every student is part of the Hawks community.

Music, Arts and Performing Arts

At ISD, the arts are woven into the fabric of school life, enriching both our academic curriculum and co-curricular programs. Students are encouraged to explore their creativity through a wide range of artistic opportunities that foster imagination, collaboration, and self-expression. From drama productions and variety shows to the annual school musical, every student has the chance to shine—whether on stage or behind the scenes.

College Fairs

We’re delighted to have welcomed representatives from dozens of universities around the world to ISD over the years. Additionally, we have also been able to host weekly seminars with university representatives to connect with our students and discuss key details; such as programs of study, admissions requirements, financial aid, and campus life.

Our most recent university fair was offered to our 130 High School students and was attended by representatives of 13 international universities from four different countries. The UK was represented by the University of Glasgow, Canada by the University of British Columbia, Australia by the University of Western Australia, and the United States of America by institutions such as Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the Purdue University. Our students gained valuable insight into the academic opportunities, campus environment and student life at each of these universities.

ISD Cafeteria

The school's Catering Department is operated in-house, enabling us to employ and train all our own chefs. We take great pride in our autonomy as it allows us to produce the type of creative, fresh and nutritious food that appeals to our international community.
