1. Background in the School
My name is Shimmi Momena Ismail Sarker. I completed my O’ Levels and later earned a Master’s degree in Marketing. I have been an ISD parent for almost 17 years, during which the school has been an important part of my family's life. My eldest son completed the IB programme at ISD and has since graduated. My daughter is currently in Grade 4. Being part of the ISD community for such a long time has given me a strong understanding of the school's values, culture, and the evolving needs
of students and parents.

2. Strengths I Would Bring to the PTA
I have been an active member of the ISD PTA for 11 years and have worked closely with previous PTA teams and school staff. I have been directly involved in planning and organising numerous school events, including school fairs, Halloween parties, school functions, Solmaid, and other community activities. My strengths include strong organisational and event-planning skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds. I am a good listener and believe in creating an inclusive environment where all parents feel encouraged to share ideas and contribute.

3. Hopes and Priorities for the Coming PTA Year
My hope for this PTA year is to strengthen relationships between parents and teachers and to increase community engagement through meaningful events and fundraising activities. I believe the priorities for the new PTA should include open communication, inclusive parent involvement, and supporting initiatives that contribute to the overall development and well-being of our children. During meetings, I will ensure everyone has the opportunity to express their views. I am committed to carefully considering all suggestions and working collaboratively to find solutions that benefit the school community and support the growth and success of our children.
