Mrs. Rumana Huq Luva

My name is Rumana, and I am a parent at the International School Dhaka. My son joined ISD in January 2025, and although we are relatively new to the school community, our experience so far has been positive, supportive, and welcoming. As a new ISD parent, I bring a fresh perspective, strong enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to contributing meaningfully to the school community.

Professionally, I am an academic and educator. I am currently pursuing my PhD at Long Island University, USA and am on study leave from North South University, where I serve as a lecturer. My professional background has strengthened my skills in communication, research, organization, collaboration, and leadership. I have worked closely with students, parents, and institutional stakeholders, which has shaped my ability to listen thoughtfully, communicate clearly, and work toward practical, inclusive solutions.

I look forward to bringing a collaborative and transparent approach. I believe my strengths include effective communication, structured planning, and the ability to represent diverse perspectives within our parent community. I value teamwork and mutual respect and aim to support a PTA culture where parents feel welcomed, informed, and encouraged to participate.
My hopes for the PTA in the coming year include fostering stronger parent engagement, supporting student well-being initiatives, and strengthening the partnership between parents, teachers, and school leadership. I believe the PTA should serve as a bridge between families and the school while respecting ISD’s values, diversity, and educational mission.

As both a parent and an educator, I am deeply invested in creating a positive, inclusive, and forward-looking school community. I would be honored to contribute my time, skills, and commitment to supporting ISD and its families through active involvement in the PTA. I look forward to working collaboratively with parents and staff for shared success together.
