“Pohela Falgun” marks the joyful arrival of Spring in Bangladesh—a season of renewal, colors, music, and celebration. It is a time when nature blossoms and people welcome the season with vibrant attire, songs, and smiles, reflecting the richness of our culture.

To make the celebration even more special, we are delighted to celebrate it alongside the Pitha Festival, a beloved tradition of Bangladeshi heritage. Pitha, in its many sweet and savory varieties, represents warmth, togetherness, and the joy of sharing.

On Sunday, 15 February, ISD proudly brings these two cultural celebrations together. The celebration will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the cultural show beginning at 7:40 a.m.

Adding to the festive spirit, stall areas will be available for booking, where a variety of Bangladeshi commodities and popular food items will be sold. The stalls will also feature boutique products, traditional jewellery, and handcrafted items, offering everyone a chance to explore and support local creativity and entrepreneurship.

This celebration is not only about welcoming a new season, but also about embracing culture, community, and diversity within our school.

The ISD Sunshine Committee members warmly invite all parents, teachers, and students to come together to enjoy the colours, flavours, and traditions of Bangladesh, and to celebrate the spirit of Pohela Falgun with joy and unity. Everyone is encouraged to wear bright and colorful attire (yellow, orange, red, magenta, etc.) to reflect the spirit of Pohela Falgun and the beauty of spring.
