Our students successfully completed the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (DoE) Adventurous Journey at the Bronze and Silver levels through a carefully planned four-day Outdoor Education and Cultural Expedition in Singapore.

The journey began with structured outdoor education sessions at Punggol Beach, where students were introduced to essential expedition skills such as map reading, compass navigation, pacing, packing a bag, and safety awareness. These skills were immediately applied during land expeditions that included long-distance hikes between Punggol Beach, Coney Island, Pasir Ris Park, East Coast Park, and West Coast Park.

Throughout the expedition, students demonstrated resilience and teamwork while engaging in tent pitching, outdoor cooking, campsite management, and reflective sessions. Cultural exposure was also an important component of the programme, with visits to Al-Istighfar Mosque, Peranakan Houses, Eurasian Community House, and key landmarks across Singapore. These experiences helped students appreciate diversity, culture, and social harmony while building global awareness.

The expedition concluded with a strong sense of achievement as students completed their final reflection and camp closing activities. This adventurous journey not only fulfilled the requirements of the DoE Award but also strengthened students’ confidence, leadership, problem-solving skills, self-reflection, and appreciation for teamwork.
