Having an Open Mind and Open Stomach

Having an open mind is something that in theory is something that we should all have, but in reality is something that doesn’t always come easy.

I love to cook! And when thinking about what foods I want to eat, I know the flavours that work and what herbs and spices I want to use. Sometimes when following what you always do and know, you can end up eating the same foods over and over (I often find myself doing this). I know that I need to open my ears and hear other suggestions and when I do, it opens a whole load of new possibilities and tasty bites! Having recently just traveled to Thailand over the break, I was bowled over by the smells and tastes of delicious Thai street food… if you’ve not been yet, you’re missing out! Though in the past I have sometimes suffered at the hands of being open minded with food. A great example, for me, would be the mopane worms I tried in Zimbabwe!

So why not give it a go? Try new ideas, listen to what others have to say and even if it is bananas on a pizza… give it a go! Or maybe not…
