Digitalization of ISD Admissions Process

In this fast moving world, and the impact of the the pandemic, the virtual world has taken over the real world much earlier than we anticipated. Throughout the time of Covid-19, we have learned to rely mostly on virtual meetings and processes to maintain social distancing to abide by safety protocols.

The positive outcome of this change it is that life has become simpler this way, despite the global health crisis, as it has saved us a lot of hassle from travelling to workplaces and doing or getting the work done physically.

International School Dhaka has fully embraced the digitalized world and has implemented all systems to carry out the work of the administration and teaching through online platforms. Additionally, ISD continues to update and improve health and safety protocols  for the safety of every member of the ISD community.

The ISD Admissions team is very supportive and proactive in reaching out to the prospective clients digitally, in order to walk them through the admissions process. As a response to prospective families being unable to visit the beautiful ISD campus in person, I set out to create a virtual tour of the entire campus, showcasing all the facilities and learning spaces we have to offer for our students, so that prospective parents do not feel that they are blindly putting their child up for admission at ISD. Thankfully, the admissions department was able to conduct two tours till now with the prospective parents- one from Sweden and another from India for admissions showcasing the entire school and its facilities in Google Meet.  Furthermore, during this time of pandemic, ISD has also successfully hosted a virtual open house for prospective parents and it was a great success with the support from the marketing and IT department.

All the application procedures, including the MAP admission testing are done online; the results are shared and discussed in virtual meetings amongst the administrators and later a meeting is scheduled with the parents. Students who are accepted can start their classes shortly right after receiving a green signal from the principal.

Even the payment process has been made easier for the parents as the banks have made their online transaction more smooth and easy to use. Our business development unit has done an excellent job by initiating the rule for parents to pay tuition fees on a monthly instalment basis to reduce financial pressure and induce flexibility, rather than paying a large amount of money at once for 6 months or a year. In addition the school management has also established the opportunity for parents to use bank loans from the Banks we have liaised to help facilitate the loans with less hassle and minimum interest rate for those who seek for it to be of utmost help to them and their children in times of sudden global economic and health crisis.

Parents can reach out to the admissions wing via: emails, phone, website for admission queries and concern, at the comfort of their house from anywhere in the world. ISD is profoundly glad that the admissions wing is supportive to parents and its students not only for facilitating the admissions but also are gladly available for support after admissions is complete.

The world has changed and so has International School Dhaka’s means of educating current students and enrolling our students of the future. We believe in empowering the students who will inspire others to embrace the change and ISD is helping its community in the dire times to be there for each other in the hope of going on with the hope of overcoming obstacles and surviving with good health and spontaneity.

Do tell your friends and family to reach out to us if they are interested in enrolling their child/children for admissions and we will be actively available to facilitate the admissions process and of course they can experience the world-class education International School Dhaka has to offer even during the pandemic.
