The Post 16 Programme is a course of study that students undertake during their final two years at International School Dhaka (Grades 11 and 12).
It prepares students for college and university entrance as well as future careers. International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) subjects are the basis for the programme of study taken by all students. The Diploma Programme is characterised by its academic breadth and balance, its focus on disciplinary and interdisciplinary understanding, education for intercultural understanding, and a holistic educational experience through which students become prepared to act in a way that makes a positive contribution to society.
Success in the Post 16 Programme requires a commitment by students to their six selected subjects, to their Theory of Knowledge course, to their Extended Essay and to their Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) projectss.
Students entering Grade 11 are individually counselled in order to help them to choose the Post 16 Programme pathway best suited to their abilities and needs. The college counselling team and Diploma Programme Coordinator are involved in the process of course and programme selection in Grade 11 - 12.
