Our History

Foundation

Founded in 1999, International School Dhaka (ISD) was established to provide a world-class international education for both expatriate and Bangladeshi students.

ISD welcomed its very first student in 1999, marking the beginning of a journey that would shape the future of international education in Dhaka. That first enrolment was more than just a name on a register - it represented the trust and hope of a family in a bold new vision for learning. From the very beginning, ISD aimed to create a school environment that celebrated diversity, curiosity, and global mindedness, nurturing young learners to become thoughtful, compassionate, and capable individuals. This initial step laid the foundation for a vibrant and inclusive community, one that has grown steadily over the years into a leading IB World School, inspiring generations of students to explore, question, and engage with the world around them.

World School

ISD became one of the first IB World Schools in Bangladesh, authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate programmes - PYP, MYP, and DP - making it the first fully IB - continuum school in the country.

Today, ISD serves a diverse student body representing 32+ nationalities. The campus has grown into a centre for learning, creativity, athletics, and wellbeing, supported by modern facilities and a highly experienced international faculty.
