ISD is a member of DISA (Dhaka International School’s Association). It is within this framework that our sport programme operates. Students have the opportunity to be selected for a number of different team and individual sports. Experienced coaches operate training sessions throughout the week and competition against other DISA members takes place on weekends. This may take the form of a tournament or a weekly league. The sports are broken into three seasons and are available to both boys and girls in the Secondary School (Grades 6 – 12).
2008-2009 saw ISD enter the Asian Youth Soccer Tournament. Three Teams travelled to Jakarta, Indonesia with the Senior Boys Team finishing in the op five. In 2009-2010 ISD hopes to take an International Athletics Team of boys and girls to Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia to compete in the Panther Pride Track and Field Open. Students will need to show a high level of committment and enthusiasm to be selected for this team.
Listed below are some of the sports that are on offer:
- Boys and girls volleyball
- Boys and girls football
- Cricket
- Swimming
- Boys and girls basketball

"HOUSE T-SHIRTS DESIGNED BY MAHATHIR IN GRADE 7"
2009-2010 sees the introduction of a new and colourful part of the ISD school uniform. House T-shirts for Amazon, Everest, Sahara & Pacific are ON SALE NOW in the school shop.
600Tk will buy you a ‘quick dry’ fabric house coloured T-shirt designed by one of ISD’s Grade 7’s students last year. Last year many students participated in a design competition with the ultimate goal of getting their design printed on the ISD House T-shirts for the entire school. Mahathir is to be commended on his winning design. Special thanks must also go to Mr Mark Tooms who designed the learner profile images on the back of the shirt. See if you can guess which learner profile each image represents!
Student’s will wear the T-shirts on Athletics Days, Swim Gala’s and for other house events throughout the year. At times they will be asked to wear them to PE lessons also for team activities. This year we are also introducing both Junior and Senior House Captains to offer students an opportunity to develop their leadership skills and increase the sense of spirit amongst their team.
