Advancement Centre
The Advancement centre provides programmes and support for students to help them reach their full potential. The programmes involve areas such as extending students who are gifted or talented, assisting students who are experiencing some difficulties in their learning and providing language support and enrichment. Specialist teachers design individual plans and goals that are appropriate for the learning journey of each student.
ESL
One of the key areas of support in the Advancement Centre is the English as a Second Language (ESL) programme. Students who require assistance to improve their level of English are supported through the ESL programme. The program consists of intensive English classes taught by specialist teachers. Students are encouraged to become full and active members of the ISD community, to enrich and improve their English.
Guidance and Counselling
The services encompass assistance with personal, social and academic issues. There is a focus on developmental issues such a social skills and decision-making as well as ways to optimize academic growth. Additionally high school students are assisted in career decisions and further and/or higher education.
